Norton AntiSpam identifies spam based a dynamic filtering engine which adjusts itself based on your input. There are two ways to tell Norton AntiSpam that you would like to receive this email. To allow all email from a specific email address, skip to the section "To add an email address to the Allowed list." To tell Norton AntiSpam that one specific email is not spam and help train its filtering engine, go on to the section "To tell Norton AntiSpam that one specific email is not spam."

To tell Norton AntiSpam that a specific email is not spam
  1. Open your email program.
  2. View the emails in the Norton AntiSpam folder.
  3. Right-click on each item that should not have been marked as spam and click This is not Spam.
  4. If you have set your options to ask before adding senders to the Allowed List, then answer the prompts accordingly.
  5. Close your email program.

Norton AntiSpam will use data about this email to help determine what is spam in the future.

To add an email address to the Allowed list
  1. Do one of the following:
    • If you are using Norton AntiSpam 2004 as a stand-alone product, open Norton AntiSpam.
    • If you are using Norton AntiSpam 2005 as a stand-alone product, open Norton AntiSpam and double-click Norton AntiSpam.
    •If you are using Norton Internet Security 2004, open Norton Internet Security and double-click Norton AntiSpam.
    • If you are using Norton Internet Security 2005, open Norton Internet Security, click Norton AntiSpam on the left side of the screen, and then double-click Norton AntiSpam.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • In Norton AntiSpam 2004, click Allowed List > Configure.
    • In Norton AntiSpam 2005 and Norton Internet Security, click Allowed List.
  3. In the Allowed List window, click Add.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • In Norton AntiSpam 2004 or Norton Internet Security 2004, in the "Add Address to Allowed List" dialog box, enter the address in the format user@domain.com.
    • In Norton AntiSpam 2005 or Norton Internet Security 2005, in the "Address Type" menu, select Email, and then enter the address in the format user@domain.com.
  5. Click OK to close the Add Address to Allowed List dialog box.
  6. Click OK to close the Allowed List window.

After configuring Norton AntiSpam or Norton Internet Security to allow email from a specific address, you will no longer see emails from this address marked as "Spam."
