Spyware Doctor will eliminate adware or spyware generated pop-ups.
Advertising pop-ups, ie. directly as a result from sites you are
visiting, can be stopped by activating Spyware Doctor's built in
Popup Blocker. Certain sites such as movie and sports sites, business
sites and shopping sites are traditionally very heavy with pop
up advertising.
Please follow the instructions below to activate the Popup Blocker:
- From within Spyware Doctor, click the "OnGuard" button
on the left side.
- Click "Popup Blocker".
- Click the "Summary" tab.
- Next to "Popup blocking is now", click the "ON" to
change it to "OFF".
Or, you may wish to whitelist certain sites
from within Spyware Doctor so they can display popups. Note that
these same sites MUST be whitelisted in your web browser as well,
otherwise your web browser will block those sites' popups, irregardless
of Spyware Doctor's settings.
- From within Spyware Doctor, click the "OnGuard" button
on the left side.
- Click "Popup Blocker".
- Click the "Popup Settings" tab.
* To whitelist a domain, click the "Add Domain" link.
Enter the URL in the "Popup Blocker" dialog box that
follows and click "OK".
* To remove a domain from the whitelist, merely click it and
click "Remove Domain".
